I wrote this song from Psalm 3 because it is a very powerful, simple, short and different Psalm. I think it's beautiful how we can sing this psalm almost word for word but then bring in Christ to complete the story.
lyrics
Deliver me (Psalm 3)
To the Lord I cry aloud. He answers me from His holy place.
I lye down to sleep, I wake up again because the Lord sustains me
I will not fear the many raised up against me
(Chorus)
Arise deliver me, break the teeth of the wicked.
Many rise against me. They say of my soul "there’s no salvation there".
You oh Lord are my shield, My glory and the lifter of my head
(Chorus)
Bridge:
Jesus cried aloud, Father forgive them,
They know not what they do. And He took all my sin
Even though I nailed His hands. His still rescued me
He'll return and judge evil. But Jesus has pardoned me.
(Chorus)
He rose, delivered me, even though I was wicked
